Mon 04/27 WLL … Eating at Home: Asking For Help

This week we talk on the topic suggested by littlemissobesessive: “Ideas on how to lose weight & eat healthy when surrounded by family members and sharing a fridge with others.” I have little to offer on this other than ideas about being open and asking for help. Hope this is useful to someone! Stay tuned for Natalie tomorrow :D ——— Please join our group! www.youtube.com Get involved. Get motivated. Get to GOAL! ———

haha that is so true xD
    but what pisses me off
is that one ever takes me seriously
my parents would make me eat even more..
    even after I tell them..I’m not hungry…
My friends of course keeps telling me..
    oh no you’re not fat..
and I’m like omfg! not that crap again!
    But I’ll try your advice!
    thank you! =)

people are funny when you tell them your on a diet. When people started to notice i was loosing weight suddenly people were baking me cookies, offering to take me out to dinner. LOL.. people are funny. Good advice just hope there not like my friends or family…always like oh you look great you can cheat… ahhh gotta love um.

does it seem to be hard to let go of alcohol for you? I remmeber you saying you were going to cut back and then that comment about how your becoming dependent on it from alifelessboring dude. :/

Was up all night watching your videos..I am tired of these crash diets and have decided to try it the “hard way” starting today. Thanks for the inspiration :)

Very nice approach to a problem and struggle that many, including myself, seem to be dealing with frequently and would like to improve on.

This is such excellent advice. You’re like the wise old owl everyone goes to in the fairy tales for advice! Much cooler though cause you get drunk like the rest of us! I’m moving to London with my boyfriend soon so no more flatmates saying “do you want to do and get a takeaway” every 2 seconds which will be a relief. Although takeaway is yummy so maybe I’ll miss it a little bit…. :)

excellent information… COMMUNICATION is key in anything when it invovles living with others ;) Sorry you feel like crap! You look great though! ;)

I think that a tip I can give is will power has to come into play. I have to stay away from the kids foods and snacks. I agree that ’support is key’ because if I don’t finish what my husband cooks he understands that it isn’t because it sucked, it is cuz I am trying to portion and eat right! Great vid.

YESSS NATALIE !!! I wondered why she left WLD2 :o ) Great Video Shanti Communication is KEY in all aspects of relationships :o )

    This is our drama.
    The lack of support.
People just don’t get it. They say…it is your journey not mine…or worse…if I don’t bring it at home you will still go buying it so what’s the point?
I bet if they knew you are trying to commit a suicide they would not bring helping tools in the house.

  12. julinside

Ah this is one of the most difficult things. The household would be victorious….they’d say: ‘See, we told you so’…but we have to suck it up and beg them to help. AAAAAAAAAAAAAH, what a great video you’ve made. You are such a great speaker.

i live with FOUR OTHER PEOPLE!
lol. who, by the way, do NOT eat the same things that i do… especiallllly because i’m a big ol’ veggie-girl.
so i just buy my own food and put a big Z on everything so that people dont eat my food. i have my own drawer in the fridge…. :D

  18. soonfully

    Great advice!

lol. yeah. eating ta home is hard. i claimed a drawer in the fridge as my own and keep my veggies and food in there. when it comes to fresh fruit i just have to buy more because i know family will eat more of it. for dry stuff that i put in the pantry, i just write my name and DO NOT EAT on it and its about 70% effective.

  20. ranm53

i find having my own cupboard and drawer in the fridge help me alot….I look at there to see what i will be eating and have those foods as my only options…….I still sometimes snack on my families food but for the most part I eat my healthy food

  21. jcarcobaltss

wow i timed getting home and the video being uploaded perfectly.

    Communication is key! great vid!

When I lived by myself it was soooo easy to eat healthy. I was in control of what came in my apartment. Living back home with my parents it is def a daily battle. I am the only one watching what I eat so I have to deal with temptation ALL THE TIME. It def has made me stronger.
