The sugars that naturally occur in fruit also naturally occur in sugar cane. There isn’t anything wrong with eating sugar, it’s the amount that causes problems.

I eat fruit to deal with sugar cravings.
I also eat homemade oat and wheatgerm flapjacks sweetened with dried fruit and honey.
Works for me.
